Questions practice owners ask

Google Business Profile FAQs

Is a Google Business Profile free, and why pay for management?

Google Business Profile itself is free. Management pays for the work of maintaining accurate details, choosing appropriate categories, reviewing updates, adding approved information and photos, guiding reviews, and measuring relevant activity. Profile work is included in our ongoing visibility programs; it does not buy a better organic position.

What does Google Business Profile management include?

We review name, address, phone, categories, hours, service information, website links, and available profile features. Ongoing work includes relevant approved updates, monitoring suggested edits, review guidance, and reporting. Exact cadence and responsibilities are set in your written scope; we do not promise that posting alone changes rankings.

Who owns the profile, and do you need my password?

Your practice should retain primary ownership. You can invite an agency through Google’s supported manager-access process instead of sharing a password. We agree on access and responsibilities, and your practice keeps control if the engagement ends.

Should each practitioner or location have a separate profile?

Sometimes. Eligibility depends on the real location, public-facing practitioner, hours, and Google’s current guidelines. We review the facts before creating or changing profiles. Extra or duplicate profiles can confuse patients and may create policy problems.

Can you guarantee that we appear first in Maps?

No. Local results depend on relevance, distance, and prominence. Accurate categories, complete information, and useful public reputation support the profile, but Google controls visibility and verification. A stronger profile does not guarantee a position or a number of calls.

Can we offer a discount for a review or ask only happy patients?

No incentives or selective review gating. Ask for honest feedback consistently using a practice-approved process. Do not pressure patients to disclose clinical details publicly. Google prohibits incentives for posting, changing, or removing reviews.

How should a healthcare practice respond to a negative review?

Keep the response general and privacy-conscious. Do not confirm patient status, appointments, diagnoses, or treatment, even if the reviewer shares them. Invite the person to use a private practice contact channel and have your team approve replies under its privacy policy. Reviews that violate Google policy may be reported; removal is not guaranteed.

What if the profile is suspended or needs verification?

The practice supplies accurate evidence and completes Google’s required verification or appeal steps. We can help organize the information and review likely issues, but Google decides approval and timing. We do not create duplicate profiles to bypass a suspension.

Growth without the chaos.

Start with your real services, your locations, and the gap you want to close. We’ll recommend a useful scope and confirm the details before work begins.
